Peach Bread Pudding

How under rated is bread pudding?! I’m preparing to host a comfort food dinner party, and figured I’d keep it straight Southern by serving pumpkin pie and bread pudding for dessert. This simple recipe needs to be prepped the night before to absorb a bunch of the yummy flavor into the bread, and can be baked in the morning.


Peach Bread Pudding

Bread Pudding Base

  • 2 baguettes

  • 4 cups whipping cream

  • 8 eggs

  • 1 1/2 c white sugar

  • 1 tbsp vanilla

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Sugar Peach Topping

  • 1 1/12 cup brown sugar

  • lemon zest

  • 1 can strained peaches

  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans


  • Chop up baguette into 1" cubes and place in a large bowl

  • In a mixing bowl, beat together whipping cream, eggs, vanilla, cinnamon and white sugar

  • Pour mixture over bread and toss until fully coated

  • Pour mixture into a cake pan and cover with plastic; place in fridge overnight

  • Remove plastic and stir mixture the next morning

  • Preheat oven to 325*

  • While oven is heating, place brown sugar, strained peaches into food processor and blend until smooth

  • Zest one lemon onto bread mixture

  • Pour sugar and peach mix on top

  • Sprinkle with pecans

  • Bake for 40 minutes

  • Serve with whipping cream, vanilla ice cream or caramel sauce
