Hi. I'm Becky, and I love to eat.

Chocolate Orange Protein Quick Oats

Chocolate Orange Protein Quick Oats

This recipe is made for a quick weekday start to your day! It comes together in about 5 minutes, and is cooked in the microwave. Chocolate and orange together create a rich and tangy flavor, and the deep sweetness brought about by the maple syrup make it tough to believe that this is a clean meal. Packed with a good balance of protein and carbs, this sweet morning treat will fuel you through the start of your day. This recipe is portioned to serve one person, so double up if you plan to serve two people, or X5 for the recipe if you'd like to make enough for food prep to take you through the work week and store in the fridge.

Chocolate Orange Protein Quick Oats

  • 1/2 cup quick oats
  • 2 tbsp vanilla protein powder
  • 3 tbsp raw cocoa powder
  • zest from 1 small navel orange
  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp almond, coconut or or cashew milk

In a medium sized mixing bowl, combine oats, protein powder, cocoa and orange zest. Combine with fork. Add in orange juice, vanilla extract, syrup and nut milk. Stir until fully combined. Transfer to a microwave safe serving dish; microwave on high for about 45 seconds. Adjust milk as needed for desired consistency. Serve hot!
